DANA R. TAYLOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR ADVOCACY ON BEHALF OF CHILDREN WITH TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

COPAA mourns the death of our friend and colleague, Dana R. Taylor, a highly-dedicated attorney in Oregon who represented parents of children with disabilities for many years.  Dana was an outstanding attorney who was extremely committed to protecting the rights of students with disabilities and ensuring that they receive a free appropriate public education. Among his cases was Lucht v. Molalla River  School District, in which the Ninth Circuit held that parents who prevailed in Complaint Resolution Proceedings could recover attorneys fees.  COPAAns who attended the conference will also remember Dana for his wit and infectious smile.  In his memory, his wife Cindy Taylor has created a special scholarship fund to help people who advocate for children with traumatic brain injury attend COPAA's conference.
